Sigilo 🤫
🚫 Unused identity.
Sigilo means "secrecy" in portuguese. It also is the name of a new nightclub located the bohemian neighbourhood of Vila Madalena, in São Paulo. I was invited to think of a visual solution that captured the vivacity of the nightlife whilst still mantaining the sultriness of the name.
The challenge: translate the underground personality of the brand without making it vulgar because name's nuance.
The solution: illustrating the "shh" sound without the lips (which, if present, could take it the viewer to the sex universe). This invites espectators to complete the symbol in their mind. Also, the owners of the club already had a bar named Zero, so the finger also alludes to this new establishment being the follow-up to Zero, one.
The identity is complemented by gradients and a smoke-like shape that wherever it touches turns negative, such as corrupting it. It is followed by blocked squares with text, awkwardly placed, to emulate a faulty computer.
